With only four chefs remaining, ”Top Chef” Portland is getting closer to naming a winner. Season 18 continues Thursday night with Episode 12, titled, “The Cheesier the Better.” As that indicates, the contestants are going to be preparing dishes featuring -- duh -- cheese.
Here’s the episode description: “The final four chefs near the end of their journey in Portland,” and “special guest Massimo Bottura has the chefs pull inspiration from his famous parmigiano reggiano dish.” We also happen to know that another familiar face from the Portland restaurant scene makes an appearance, and the chefs’ elimination challenge takes them to the Oregon Coast, and the Tillamook Creamery.

The Quickfire challenge will also ask the chefs to create a modern dish that uses ingredients travelers on the Oregon Trail would have had.
Look for our recap tomorrow morning here on OregonLive for more details about what happens. Which chef will whip up the judges’ favorite dish? And who will pack their knives and go? The final four chefs are Dawn Burrell, Gabe Erales, Shota Nakajima and Jamie Tran.
“Top Chef” Portland Season 18, Episode 12, airs at 7:59 p.m. Thursday, June 17, on Bravo.
